Privacy Policy
Clean Kit โ Storage Cleaner ("the App") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your data. This Privacy Policy describes how we ("we," "us," or "our") handle information when you use our iOS application. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
1. Our Privacy Commitment
The App is designed with a strict privacy-first, offline-only architecture. The App does not make any network requests, does not contain any analytics SDKs, advertising frameworks, or third-party data-collection tools, and does not transmit any data off your device. All processing occurs entirely on your device.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
We want to be explicit about what we do not do:
- We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to any server.
- We do not upload your photos, videos, thumbnails, or any media content to any server.
- We do not require user accounts, registration, or sign-in.
- We do not use analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs of any kind.
- We do not use cookies, web beacons, device fingerprinting, or any tracking technologies.
- We do not use the AppTrackingTransparency framework because we do not track users.
- We do not sell, rent, share, or disclose any data to third parties.
- We do not make any network requests. The App functions entirely offline.
3. Photo Library Access
The App requires full access to your device's photo library to perform its core functionality. This access is governed by Apple's Photos framework and requires your explicit consent.
3.1 Purpose of Access
We request photo library access solely to:
- Identify duplicate and visually similar photos using on-device image analysis
- Detect blurry or low-quality photographs
- Scan and categorize screenshots by age, content type, and size
- Analyze Live Photos for conversion to still images
- Scan videos for compression opportunities
- Calculate storage usage and potential space savings
3.2 Full Access Requirement
The App requires full photo library access to function correctly. Limited photo access (where you select specific photos) does not provide the App with sufficient information to analyze your library, detect duplicates, or calculate storage savings. If limited access is granted, the App may not function as intended.
3.3 On-Device Processing
All photo analysis, duplicate detection, blur detection, image comparison, content categorization, and AI-based classification are performed entirely on your device using Apple's native frameworks (Vision, Photos, AVFoundation, Core ML). No images, thumbnails, metadata, or derived data are ever transmitted off your device.
3.4 Photo Deletion
When you choose to delete photos, videos, or other media through the App, the deletion is handled by Apple's Photos framework. Deleted items are moved to the "Recently Deleted" album in the Photos app, where they remain recoverable for approximately 30 days before being permanently removed by iOS. The App does not bypass this safety mechanism. We do not retain any copies of deleted content.
3.5 Managing Permissions
You may revoke photo library access at any time through your device's Settings > Privacy & Security > Photos. Revoking access will prevent the App from scanning or analyzing your library.
4. Device Storage Information
The App reads your device's storage capacity and available space using standard iOS system APIs. This information is used solely to display storage statistics within the App and its widgets. This data never leaves your device.
5. On-Device Data Storage
The App stores limited data locally on your device to improve performance:
- Image fingerprint cache: Perceptual hashes (mathematical representations used for duplicate detection) are cached locally using Core Data. These are numeric fingerprints, not images, and cannot be reverse-engineered into photographs.
- Scan results cache: Results of prior scans are cached in device memory to avoid redundant processing.
- App preferences: Your theme selection and settings are stored using UserDefaults on your device.
- Widget data: Minimal storage statistics (total bytes, used bytes, free bytes, photo count, and last scan date) are shared between the App and its home screen widget extension using Apple's App Groups. No personal information or media content is included in widget data.
All locally stored data remains on your device and is automatically removed when the App is uninstalled.
6. In-App Purchases
The App offers optional auto-renewable subscriptions managed entirely by Apple's App Store. All purchase transactions are processed by Apple. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment information, credit card details, Apple ID, or billing address. Subscription status is verified on-device using Apple's StoreKit framework. No external servers or third-party payment processors are used.
7. Siri Shortcuts and App Intents
The App supports Siri Shortcuts for quick actions such as checking storage status or initiating scans. These features use Apple's App Intents framework and operate entirely on your device. No voice data, interaction history, or intent data is collected by us.
8. Third-Party Services
The App does not integrate any third-party services, SDKs, libraries, or frameworks that collect user data. The only external service involved in any capacity is the Apple App Store for processing in-app purchases, which is governed by Apple's own Privacy Policy (https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/).
9. Children's Privacy
The App does not collect personal information from any user regardless of age. Since no personal data is collected, stored, or transmitted, the App is inherently compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the EU Age Appropriate Design Code, and similar regulations. The App is not specifically directed at children under 13.
10. International Users and Data Protection
Since all data processing occurs locally on your device and no data is transmitted to any server, no personal data crosses international borders. The App is compliant by design with:
- GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation โ European Union): No personal data is collected or processed by us.
- CCPA/CPRA (California Consumer Privacy Act / California Privacy Rights Act): No personal information is sold, shared, or collected.
- UAE PDPL (UAE Personal Data Protection Law): No personal data is processed, stored, or transferred outside the device.
Your data rights (access, correction, deletion, portability, objection) are inherently satisfied because we hold no data about you.
11. Data Security
Because the App processes all data on-device and makes no network requests, your information benefits from the security protections built into iOS, including hardware encryption, Secure Enclave, and app sandboxing. Since we do not receive or store your data, we cannot be a vector for data breaches.
12. Your Rights and Choices
You maintain full control over all data on your device at all times. You may:
- Revoke photo library access at any time via Settings > Privacy & Security > Photos
- Delete the App to remove all locally cached data, preferences, and fingerprint caches
- Manage or cancel your subscription through Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions
Since we do not collect or hold any personal data on any server, there is no data for us to access, correct, export, or delete on our end.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by an updated "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes may also be communicated through an update to the App. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
